Been baking cakes for two days...sent a couple to work with Joe today for the crew at Lockheed ...and one is for tonight's combo birthday party for Joe and son Mike..
..easy peasy dinner...pizza and cake??? ..oh... and a salad to make it all healthy...or not....


..been crocheting up scrap yarn into string bags ....nice pattern found at http://theadventuresofcassie.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html....
..on this one I tied beads where the different yarns were joined so I wouldn't have to weave in those ends...

..on this one I decided to change the pattern a little from the original...decreased stitches to form a more rounded bottom...also didn't do the bead thing and what a nightmare....weaving in a MILLION ends....but like the green color combo better than the 'thanksgiving' colors....

..thinking this may be the answer to using up a bunch o' remnants of yarn!!!!! and I've got a bunch o'

BTW ...a great container for yarn scraps...see-thru blanket bag...in fact...anything see-thru is the key when stashing away ANYTHING....


okay...what to talk about a recent gift ...JEWELRY...but have to officially thank the sender first.....are you bustin' to know more?????

Spent yesterday listing on eBay......http://myworld.ebay.com/karenltd/ geez!...all the pics and descriptions...THOSE LAMPS were the project...took one apart again...the one that I had cleaned up...buyers will be getting some nice components... 

Fixed some breakfast ...after blowing the eggs out of their shells...

tis the time to build up a stash of 'empty' eggs for my Easter projects....in the process I turn about three shades of PURPLE...

Joe golfed all day yesterday...100 holes or more...all from the couch...phew!..he must be exhausted...how is he gonna hang in for the Daytona 500 today????

All I can say is...the TV's mine when they start broadcasting from the RED CARPET  at the OSCAR'S  this afternoon

of course, I haven't seen any of the nominated movies...except for MONEYBALL

..Girl with the Dragon Tattoo is on its way to me via Netflix...

read the book ...and liked it...slow to get into and wondered for the longest time why it was titled the way it was.....kept waiting for the tattooed girl to appear on the pages....now 3/4 through the THE GIRL WHO PLAYED WITH FIRE...liking it alot....

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOE...I see in the email there are lots of ecards stacking up for him...he needs to get up and start opening them!  I believe my husband is 71 years old today...I really can't see how that is possible...he just seems the same ...the same busy, vigorous, smart, good person he has always been...that number '71' is sure a big one and I guess it has to be correct but.....


I will fix a tasty dinner for him but we plan to co-celebrate his birthday with Mike's next Tuesday...one cake with two names...is that fair ??  It has been the case for so many of these too close together birthdays, Joe, Feb 25, Mike, March 1.


Today if the weather is as warm as yesterday....I must work in the patio and clean it up....the primroses in the pots are blooming and need tidy surroundings....dirty ol' debris from the eucalyptus trees...and the olive tree, everywhere ....there's a  calla lily trying to brighten the area ....big job for a single bloom....

could watch hours of this...love hearing these entrepreneurs or wanna be's, plead their case...do their song and dance......then the BEST happens ....the Sharks circle and take 'em apart....get to the heart of it....compliment and/or crush where deserved.... invest or not in the pitch.....HURRAH ....great fun....$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

..weather warming up and I am thinking about the iridescence of my skin...fish belly white...what about those spray tanning booths?

..if I looked this good in a bikini I wouldn't care about a TAN!!...maybe solution for my paleness is a spring/Easter outfit like the one this woman is wearing???????

...meanwhile back at the ranch ......no time for tanning booth...got to get busy listing the lamp components on eBay and making Easter decorations....skip past St Patrick's day....

Okay...stayed pretty focused yesterday with regard to those lamps....

..completely took one apart and cleaned all the glass/crystal...and polished the brass...and reassembled partially... but thinking ...selling off the compenents is a better idea ....will mull a little ....
..no progress on the silver leaf chair ...but that's okay...glad I devoted the time to the lamps and am closer to decision regarding them...

..Today Linda K gave me the info and got me going here...you all can blame her...if you want to accost her in person, pack a bag and head for Africa.

Today's project....these monster old lamps.   I have removed the huge lampshades and the 9" prisms....and may just settle for keeping the prisms and tossing the rest...or maybe sell the components?.....or maybe reconfigure into smaller lamps???? got sidetracked with this blog set up...
The kitchen is a mess so I may just stay here and hid from it and the lamp demons lurking there.  
Joe the husband, may be expecting dinner...NOT AGAIN...didn't I do that yesterday?...and the day before? and...
..but I am getting hungry, so...
